As ERP users, developers, and clients ourselves, we saw a pattern again and again across the industry.  We watched businesses struggle with ERP consultants who focused only on fixing the symptom presented to them, failing to diagnose the root cause of the problem. The turning point came during a project where a client had been quoted for a complex and expensive system automation. Diving deeper, we discovered the business objective could be met with a simple, standard report. The easy solution was the right solution, but it wasn't the most profitable one for the consultant.
